Role Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Server & Infrastructure Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and support our organizations server infrastructure. This role involves installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux-based systems, databases, web servers, and application servers. The ideal candidate will also assist in cloud platform management, virtualization, and infrastructure upgrades.
Key Responsibilities :
Server Administration :
- Install, configure, and manage Windows and Linux servers.
- Oversee Active Directory, file servers, and group policies.
- Manage web servers including IIS, Apache, and Nginx.
- Deploy and maintain application servers for various platforms.
Database Management :
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot database systems such as MS-SQL, MySQL, MongoDB,
Redis, and PostgreSQL.
- Ensure proper data backup and recovery strategies.
Application Support :
- Install and troubleshoot server-based applications, including those built in VB, C#, .NET, and
other enterprise platforms.
Cloud & Virtualization :
- Provide basic support for public cloud platforms like AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Manage virtual environments using Hyper-V and VMware ESXi.
- Monitor and maintain virtual machines/servers, including snapshot and backup management.
System Maintenance & Upgrades :
- Perform regular patch deployment and system updates.
- Assist in hardware troubleshooting and replacement for server components.
- Ensure server performance and availability through monitoring tools.
Support & Troubleshooting :
- Address escalated technical issues from desktop support teams.
- Respond promptly to system outages and performance degradation.
- Document procedures and configurations for knowledge sharing and auditing.
Project Participation :
- Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
- Support the deployment of new systems and IT solutions as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux OS management
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and server architecture
- Familiarity with enterprise databases and backup solutions
- Working knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system and application issues
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
