Job Description
The primary purpose of the Laboratory Technician is to ensure that products or processes meet specified quality standards and comply with industry standards including EFSA & FDA requirements, and FSSC 22000 certification requirements.
Main Accountabilities
Conduct routine testing and analysis, record and monitoring of test samples in line with standard operating procedures.
Monitor and analyse quality data to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for process optimization and present this data in graphic and written form.
Maintain the quality of testing through the calibration of test equipment the testing of laboratory supplies.
Train and mentor Production Operators on testing requirements
Conduct quality inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products to identify areas for improvement and prevent defects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve quality issues, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain quality documentation
Act as a liaison with customers, and suppliers to address quality-related inquiries, audits, and requirements.
Have ******** knowledge of FSSC 22000 V 5.1 and ongoing 3rd party system certification requirements.
Understanding of EFSA, FDA & Customer specific requirements that relate to the site, and ensuring identified PRP’s are managed in line with requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO standards).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and drive process improvements.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of quality and compliance.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or a related field. (Master's degree preferred)
Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer) preferred.
