About the Role
Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Waitematā Laboratory has an Inventory Control Coordinator / Laboratory Administrator vacancy available for a hardworking and reliable person.
The role is to fill a part time permanent (up to 0.6 FTE / 4850 hours per fortnight), Monday to Friday vacancy during day shifts between 8.00am and 4:30pm. You will be based predominantly at North Shore Hospital with some days worked at Waitakere Hospital.
Working hours can be negotiated with the successful applicant.The successful person will be responsible for:
Providing administrative support to laboratory and inventory functions, including end of month reporting, preparation of statistics, and reconciliation of accounts
Managing critical supplies and expiry dates for laboratory testing
Assisting with stock audits and variance investigations
ordering and purchasing laboratory consumables and general items
unpacking boxes and packing shelves (some heavy lifting may be required)
keeping the laboratory storeroom organised
supporting the implementation and ongoing use of the electronic scanner ordering and inventory management systems in laboratory departments
Responding to queries related to orders, invoicing and stock reporting
General administrative tasks including filing and document control to support laboratory operations and service delivery
Managing storage, accurate tracking and updating of databases and spreadsheets

About you
The successful applicant must have the following attributes:
Either health care or administration experience
Excellent computer skills, including database development and management
Self-directed and motivated
Good interpersonal skills
Understanding of the importance of laboratory supply management and critical stock levels
Experience in inward goods, procurement and inventory management is preferable
Ability to keep accurate records of consumable delivery of goods and services
