Job Description

Join AECOM Buildings + Places as an Intermediate Landscape Architect in Markham, with flexible hybrid work options. Contribute to the design of transit facilities, plazas, civic campuses, municipal infrastructure, parks and conservation landscapes that foster resilient, vibrant, and sustainable communities. What You’ll Do

Support projects from concept through construction— site analysis, schematic & detailed design, permitting, construction documentation, and contract administration.
Produce high-quality design deliverables -graphics, reports, drawings, and presentation materials.
Develop detailed landscape construction drawings (2D and 3D) including grading, planting, hardscape, details, and schedules.
Coordinate drawings with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and constructability.
Assist with permit submissions, agency coordination, and responses to technical comments.
Maintain organized project files and contribute to quality control and documentation standards.
Collaborate with peers and senior staff and contribute to the overall success of the practice.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Requirements

Degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA or MLA).+ Two (2) years of experience
Associate Member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects, working towards full membership.
Experienced in contributing to full project design lifecycles, with demonstrated experience producing full drawing sets for tender and construction.
Exposure to public realm projects such as parks, streetscapes, transit facilities, or municipal infrastructure is preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with MicroStation, SketchUp, Revit, Civil 3D, Land F/X, Lumion, or similar 3D/BIM tools is an asset.
Preferred Requirements

3+ years of professional practice in landscape architecture or urban design.
Experience with construction administration.
Professional Skills

Strong design sense complemented by clear visual communication and presentation abilities.
Clear written and verbal communicator.
Well organized, able to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
Motivated by design excellence, collaboration, and sustainability.
