Job Description
We are looking for the highest calibre and quality doctors. Such doctors are seeking to gain further experience, skills escalation, career progression and higher qualifications.
The terms and conditions of employment will be exactly equivalent to a UK NHS doctor of the same grade. The NHS will pay their salary and their remuneration will be exactly the same as an equivalent UK doctor.
There are 18 PICU and General Paediatricians at UHNM, most of whom participate in the on call rotas. Consultants are resident in the evenings and during the day at weekends. A Consultant of the week (COW) system ensures continuity throughout the week on the general wards and a 2 nd Consultant is in place daily. PICU also run a consultant of the week system.
We have a dedicated rota coordinator who manages PICU and general paediatrics. All middle grade rotas are 1:7 and there are separate rotas for PICU and General Paediatrics.

Applications are fixed term from March to September 2026, on the middle grade General Paediatrics and/or Paediatric Intensive Care rota from as soon as possible. The post is not recognised as a formal training slot. However, the on-site training opportunities will be the same as the other ST3-ST5 Doctors.
