Job Title: Shoe Lasting In-Charge – High-End Women's Footwear
Location: Lucknow
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Manager / Factory Head
Job Purpose:
To oversee and manage the lasting process in the production of luxury women's footwear, ensuring precision, quality, and adherence to design specifications. The role requires a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing techniques to produce high-quality, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing shoes.
Key Responsibilities
Lasting Process Management: Supervise and execute the lasting process, ensuring the upper material is correctly shaped over the last to achieve the desired fit and form.
Team Leadership: Lead and train a team of operators in lasting techniques, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections during the lasting stage to identify and rectify any defects, ensuring the final product meets the company's high-quality standards.
Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of lasting machines, ensuring they are in optimal working condition to prevent production delays.
Collaboration: Work closely with design and production teams to understand design specifications and provide feedback on manufacturability.
Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve lasting techniques to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain product quality.
Compliance: Ensure all lasting processes comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in footwear manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role focusing on the lasting process.
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in hand lasting techniques and familiarity with automated lasting machines.
Quality Control: Strong understanding of quality assurance practices in footwear production.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues in the lasting process and implement effective solutions.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with various departments.
Education: Diploma or degree in Footwear Technology, Leather Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Desirable Attributes
Attention to detail and a keen eye for craftsmanship.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems in footwear design.
Knowledge of the latest trends in luxury footwear manufacturing.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
