Job Title: Lead 3’s Teacher
Location: Melville, NY
School: David Joshua Berg Early Learning Center at Temple Beth Torah
Position Type: Full-Time / School Year (with optional summer work)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a warm, nurturing, and experienced Lead Teacher for our 3-year-old classroom in a vibrant Jewish nursery school. Our ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, deeply values play-based learning, and is committed to fostering a safe, joyful, and developmentally appropriate classroom. The teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging lesson plans, building meaningful relationships with children and families, and working collaboratively with colleagues to support the growth and learning of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement creative, play-based lesson plans aligned with our educational philosophy
Foster a warm, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children
Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding their child’s progress and classroom activities
Collaborate with assistant teachers and other faculty to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
Incorporate Jewish values, traditions, and culture into daily routines and classroom experiences
Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment
Observe and document children’s development, behavior, and learning milestones
Participate in school events, professional development, and staff meetings
Qualifications:
Degree in Early Childhood Education, a related field, or a current CDA
Minimum of 2 years experience working with young children in a classroom setting
Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
Warm, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children and families
Knowledge of Jewish customs and holidays is a plus, but not required
