Job Description
This is a critical role in our organization, responsible for overseeing the education and care of young children.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure all children are always supervised by trained staff to guarantee their safety and well-being.
• Lead implementation of individualized care plans where needed to meet the unique needs of each child.
• Regularly observe classrooms to assess the quality of interactions and safety compliance to maintain a healthy environment.
• Curriculum Oversight & Educational Quality:
• Oversee the implementation of the educational curriculum and timetable for the day to ensure alignment with early childhood frameworks.
• Ensure lesson plans meet developmental benchmarks to support the growth and development of children.
• Support staff in adapting learning plans for children with special needs to provide inclusive education.
• Parent & Community Engagement:
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with families to establish open communication channels.
• Respond to parental concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, in consultation with the HO, to address any issues efficiently.
• Facilitate family involvement in center events, workshops, or community programs to foster a sense of community.
• Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to local/state/national childcare regulations and licensing requirements to maintain a safe and compliant environment.
• Conduct regular safety audits and hygiene checks to identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain incident logs and manage child health records securely to protect sensitive information.
• Act as the primary contact in emergency situations to provide swift assistance.
• Staff Supervision & Development:
• Supervise teaching and support staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to support staff development and growth.
• Support ongoing professional development for the team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Foster a supportive, respectful, and accountable work culture to promote teamwork and collaboration.
• Centre Operations & Administration:
• Responsible for center schedules, rosters, and staff-child ratios to ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee supply inventory, procurement, and budget use to maintain effective resource management.
• Maintain accurate records including enrolment, attendance, incident reports, and compliance documentation to support decision-making.
• Use tools/software for documentation and communication wherever possible to improve efficiency.
• Regular reporting to the HO to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:
• Gather feedback from staff and parents to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance service delivery.
• Implement initiatives to enhance learning environments, staff satisfaction, and child outcomes to continuously improve the quality of services provided.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
