Job description
Brief Overview of the Job Description: The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of Operational Risk within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and safeguarding the interests of stakeholders. This role involves collaborating with various Lines of Business (LoBs), liaising with audit, information security, and other risk teams, and implementing risk management practices and frameworks to protect the organizations reputation, assets, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Operational Risk frameworks and policies to minimize financial losses due to operational risks.
• Establish robust reporting mechanisms to track financial impact and provide insights into risk management effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines to protect customer interests and maintain trust.
• Collaborate with retail and corporate LoBs to enhance customer experience by mitigating operational risks.
• Support the first line of defense (1LOD) in identifying, assessing, and reporting inherent and residual risks, enhancing overall risk awareness and mitigation.
• Facilitate 1LOD in establishing and testing the effectiveness of controls, providing independent opinions and recommendations for improvement.
• Investigate operational risk incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
• Train and assist 1LOD and other stakeholders in utilizing Operational Risk Management (ORM) tools for risk identification and assessment.
• Conduct regular training sessions for stakeholders, including new joiners and business managers, to increase risk awareness and competency.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with regulatory changes and emerging risks, ensuring the organization's risk management practices remain robust.
• Maintain and update the operational risk incident database, ensuring accurate tracking and comprehensive reporting of incidents.
• Review and provide advisory on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) from an operational risk perspective to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
• Engage with 1LOD in building risk registers, corresponding controls, and assigning ownership for control implementation and testing.
• Assist in conducting self-assessments on risks faced by various processes to determine inherent and residual risk ratings.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to manage third-party and fraud risks, ensuring comprehensive risk coverage.
• Support management in implementing regulatory guidelines by understanding requirements, building implementation roadmaps, and framing action plans.

Qualifications:
• Graduate/Postgraduate in BBA/MBA/CA/ORM PG Certification
• 5-12 years of relevant experience in Operational Risk Management
Knowledge:
• In-depth knowledge of risk management practices and relevant regulations applicable to Operational Risk Management.
• Understanding of BASELs and RBIs framework and guidelines on Operational Risk and Business Continuity Management.
• Familiarity with risk and compliance practices in the Indian regulatory environment, including KYC, AML/CTF, Data Privacy & Confidentiality, and Consumer Protection.

• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
