The GHD Power & Future Energy group in New Zealand continues to grow, and we’re seeking a highly experienced Renewable Energy Leader to complete our team.

This role is pivotal in shaping the future of renewable energy delivery across Aotearoa and the Pacific.

As the energy landscape rapidly evolves, the Renewable Lead will play a critical role in identifying and leading major solar, wind, and battery storage projects, supporting our clients to achieve their decarbonisation, sustainability and investment objectives.

About the role:

This is a senior, client-facing leadership position designed for a dynamic professional who will:

Build and strengthen key client relationships in collaboration with the Business Group Lead and Market Leads
Act as the primary point of contact for major renewable energy projects
Direct multidisciplinary project teams, taking on Design or Project Manager responsibilities
Spearhead bid and proposal processes, from client engagement from solution development to go/no go and remain involved throughout delivery.
Develop long-term partnerships with leading generators and independent developers.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, proactively identifying opportunities for sustainable growth
Focus on projects across New Zealand and the Pacific, with opportunities to engage across the wider APAC market
You’ll bring:

A recognized degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or a related discipline
15+ years’ experience in renewable energy, particularly in the development and construction of solar projects
Strong technical understanding of renewable generation and associated infrastructure
Proven leadership in project delivery, proposal development, and client-winning pursuits
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive, commercially aware, and solutions-oriented mindset
A strong commitment to collaboration, integrity, and delivering sustainable outcomes
