Job Summary: Lead Teacher – Christian Montessori Early Childhood Program
Location: South Houston, TX
We are a Faith-Based, Montessori childcare center in South Houston committed to nurturing the whole child—academically, emotionally, and physically—through a holistic educational approach.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher who is enthusiastic about early childhood development and focused on fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will exemplify strong values in their interactions and create a classroom culture rooted in respect, excellence, and a love for learning, while adhering to the Montessori philosophy of child-led education.
As a Lead Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the lives of young children by cultivating a peaceful and structured environment where they can thrive intellectually and develop emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead a Montessori-inspired classroom that supports the holistic development of every child.
- Integrate positive values and character development into daily classroom routines.
- Guide students through hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote independence and exploration.
- Observe and document individual child progress in alignment with Montessori and state guidelines.
- Lead/teach children biblical principles to include praying in school
- Build meaningful relationships with children, families, and co-workers that reflect a supportive and nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with the Director and leadership team to ensure operational alignment with the center’s mission.
- Ensure classroom compliance with licensing, safety, and cleanliness standards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or certificates in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or progress toward one).
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in early childhood education.
- Understanding of or experience with Montessori education (Montessori certification is a plus).
- Strong commitment to early childhood development and a passion for nurturing young learners.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to embrace and model the values and vision of our educational community.
Preferred Attributes
- Warm, nurturing presence in the classroom.
- Ability to lead children in age-appropriate character development activities and discussions.
- Experience working in early learning settings.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
