Lead Teacher
Dahjia’s Learning Academy – Atlanta, GA
Dahjia’s Learning Academy is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role is ideal for a nurturing professional who understands child development, values structure and routine, and can confidently lead a classroom while supporting program standards.
Position Details
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM
Break: 1-hour unpaid break daily
Classrooms:
Preschool (Ages 3–4)
Afterschool Program
Qualifications
Preferred: CDA (Child Development Associate) credential
Required:
Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on childcare or preschool teaching experience
Experience working with children ages 3–4 years and/or afterschool-age children
Strong classroom management and leadership skills
Knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum and developmental milestones
Ability to maintain a structured, safe, and engaging learning environment
Candidates without a CDA will be considered if they have strong, verifiable experience.Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily classroom operations
Implement lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
Create a warm, structured, and engaging learning environment
Observe, document, and communicate children’s progress
Maintain classroom compliance with state licensing and center policies
Supervise and support assistant teachers when applicable
Ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards are followed at all times
Communicate professionally with parents and leadership
