The opportunity
As the Learning and Student Experience Designer, you’ll support the delivery of the Next Generation Graduates Program (NGGP), a Commonwealth‑funded initiative addressing critical skills shortages in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and quantum. The program brings together universities, industry and CSIRO to co‑fund scholarships for Honours, Masters and Doctoral students through a work‑integrated learning model.

Working within CSIRO’s Data61, you’ll collaborate with the NGGP team and subject matter experts to review and refine coursework for online, hybrid and in‑person delivery. You’ll also help design and support engaging student experience activities that build strong cohorts, encourage peer‑to‑peer learning, and strengthen connections with industry and university partners.

From time to time, you’ll undertake short‑duration domestic travel to support program delivery and collaboration.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated learning design professional who is keen to apply their expertise to shape high-quality coursework and student experiences, supporting the next cohort of graduates to succeed in Australia's future technology workforce.

Your high-level duties will include:
Reviewing, designing and supporting delivery of NGGP coursework across online, hybrid and in‑person formats for Masters and Honours students.
Applying learning design and instructional principles to create engaging, high‑quality learning content that supports strong student outcomes.
Working with universities, industry, government and CSIRO experts to deliver creative and inclusive learning experiences.
Using data, feedback and emerging trends to continuously improve pedagogy, delivery and student engagement.
Supporting the effective use of educational technologies, including learning management systems and digital collaboration tools.

Role particulars
Location and office arrangements: Brisbane, QLD; Canberra, ACT; Sydney, NSW; Melbourne, VIC; or Adelaide, SA. Hybrid working options available.

Salary: AU$118k – AU$127k per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 15.4% superannuation

Tenure & work schedule: Specified term of 12 months; full time
