About this Role
Role:Learning Support Assistant
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. 08:00 to 16:30.
Reports to: Head of Habs Junior School
Overview
We are looking to appoint an inspirational, dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to provide support to pupils helping to create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all.
During lessons, you will work together with the class teacher to support the pupils with classroom activities and enable the pupils to fully access the curriculum, as well as developing their confidence and independence.
Excellent communication and enthusiasm will be key in supporting the pupils to progress, achieve and overcome any difficulties. You will support all areas of the curriculum within the classroom and the broader school setting. You will also be expected to participate fully in duty rotas and accompany teaching staff and pupils on trips and other out-of-school activities.
Knowledge and experience
• Ability to support learning of children in KS1 and KS2
• Good pastoral support
• Ability to work within team settings
• Good verbal and written communication
• Knowledge of using iPads as a part of Teaching and Learning provision (desirable)
• Ability to inspire and motivate
• Good organisation and planning
