Job Description
Contribute to the development of curriculum, new course modules and course material.
Contribute to the development, marking and compilation of assessments, including assignments and examinations.
Implement current best practice in approaches to teaching and assessment and, be responsive to evidence-based research and feedback on these practices.
Contribute to teaching innovation at SCI.
Leadership and Service
Contribute to a range of administrative functions, including those connected with teaching.
Responsibilities and the conduct of the academic affairs of SCI.
Participate in SCI meetings, seminars and student activities such as Orientation.
Contribute to SCI committees as determined by SCI Governance Charter.
Participate in the SCI professional development activities.
Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) responsibilities
Research and Scholarship
Engage in and/or contribute to research and scholarship in Accounting education.
May seek funding support for scholarship and academic initiatives promoting innovation in business education.
May also undertake research student supervision in an area of Accounting education and SCI or other approved institutions.
Selection Criteria
Essential
A doctoral level qualification in Accounting or similar.
Knowledge of the ESOS Framework and the National Code 2018. If you do not currently have knowledge of ESOS Framework and the National Code, you must be willing to acquire the required knowledge.
Proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in ongoing scholarly activities to inform pedagogical theory and practice.
Sound knowledge in a field of business that aligns with at least one of SCI’s major areas of study .
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the capacity to explain material plainly and helpfully.
A demonstrated ability in course design and leadership, as appropriate to the relevant discipline.
Evidence of sustained and significant contributions in leading, lecturing and tutoring; and a commitment to teaching and contributing to undergraduate and/or graduate teaching.
Ability to improvise and adapt to new demands in course delivery and academic management.
Excellent organisational skills to coordinate the activities of all academic staff.
A demonstrated ability to show initiative in both independent and team-based decision making.
A demonstrated ability to interact productively with other academic staff and to contribute constructively to the activities and administration of SCI.
