Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our legal team in Crown Point/Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workers' compensation law, with a proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. The position offers a competitive salary with a requirement of 2000 billable hours annually.
Key Responsibilities
• Case Management: Handle a caseload of workers' compensation cases from inception through resolution. This includes client intake, case strategy development, legal research, and representation at hearings and trials.
• Client Representation: Advocate for clients in all phases of the workers' compensation process, including filing claims, attending depositions, negotiating settlements, and representing clients at hearings before the Workers' Compensation Board.
• Legal Research and Writing: Conduct thorough legal research on workers' compensation laws and regulations. Prepare legal briefs, motions, pleadings, and other documents necessary for case preparation and trial.
• Negotiation: Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients with insurance companies and opposing counsel, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients.
• Compliance: Ensure all cases comply with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, as well as firm policies and procedures.
• Client Communication: Maintain regular and effective communication with clients, keeping them informed of case progress and addressing any concerns or questions promptly.
• Collaboration: Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members to ensure efficient case management and excellent client service.
• Court Appearances: Represent clients in court and administrative hearings, presenting evidence, examining witnesses, and making persuasive arguments on their behalf.
Qualifications
• Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in workers' compensation law, with a track record of successful case outcomes.
• License: Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Indiana.
