Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Legal Cashier to join a law firm based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. This is a full time, permanent job with the opportunity of hybrid working. The successful Legal Cashier will manage the firm’s financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting regulations. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, workplace pension scheme and holiday payment scheme.
Role Responsibilities
The incoming Legal Cashier will have previous legal accounts experience, exceptional attention to detail and a proven track record of managing financial processes.
Key tasks include:
• Processing all financial transactions related to the firm’s operations, including client transactions, disbursements, and expenses.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with accounting standards and legal regulations.
• Reconciling bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Preparing and processing client bills in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitoring and managing the firm’s petty cash transactions.
• Collaborating with internal teams to address any financial discrepancies and provide support in audits.
• Staying informed about changes in accounting regulations and legal finance practices.
Person Specification
The successful Legal Cashier will have 1 or more years in a similar legal finance role or be able to demonstrate equivalent finance assistant experience.
You will also possess:
• Thorough understanding of legal accounting principles and regulations.
• Proficient in relevant accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with relevant legal software and technology.
• Professional certification in accounting or finance is a plus.
