About the Role
We are seeking a fixed-term, in-house counsel to join our Legal Services team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice and services across a broad range of legal disciplines
Manage own files, including legal interpretation and application of the CFA Act and Regulations
Advise and negotiate on commercial and inter-governmental matters, including MOUs, agreements, contracts, property licences and leases, litigation claims, and work with external lawyers
Provide advice on employment and industrial matters, volunteer discipline, and legal risks associated with CFA's activities
About You
The ideal candidate will be an Australian lawyer with an unrestricted Victorian practising certificate.
You will have demonstrated experience in applying legal principles to various legal disciplines and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Your success in this role will depend on your proven experience in providing strategic legal advice, including the interpretation and application of legislation in complex environments.
