Georgia State University College of Law Library is currently seeking applicants for the position Library Specialist II. This is a full-time regular staff position.
Situated in the heart of downtown Atlanta and surrounded by business, government, nonprofit, and cultural organizations and as part of a comprehensive research university, the College of Law provides a vibrant environment for gaining practical experience and engaging in interdisciplinary research. Located in a beautiful new building, the College of Law is committed to providing an excellent and affordable legal education to a diverse student body and promoting legal scholarship and service. The College of Law currently enrolls approximately 650 students in its full-time and part-time day and evening programs.
This position assists the Associate Director for Collection Services by performing advanced level specialized work. The position coordinates record maintenance and publications management. The position also manages financial and business service matters including budget review, order management and purchasing.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for ordering books purchased for the library collections. Creates records for all added print materials by downloading OCLC records. Checks-in library print materials and reconciles incoming materials with invoices. Responsible for processing government documents in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by Federal Depository Library.
Participates in planning, procedure development and implementation. Provides notice of changes in pricing, purchase options, and status of orders to appropriate parties.
Reviews and manages payment of collection-service invoices as both initiator and first- line approver in Panthermart. Applies appropriate policies and procedures for payment processing. Manages documentation related to invoice payments and research outstanding invoices.
Runs appropriate financial reports through Spectrum and related systems. Provides reconciliation of monthly budget expenditures and coordinates budget adjustments through appropriate College and University personnel. Assists the Head of Collection Services with monitoring financial reports. Assists in the development of departmental- specific processes to support departmental business operations.
Stays abreast of new accounting policies and procedures by attending College and University training and meetings as a representative of the Law Library. Preforms other related duties as assigned, which include opening and sorting mail and preparing UPS shipments.

Qualifications:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four years of progressively specialized library experience, including two years in the assigned area; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Familiarity with procurement systems such as Panthermart; familiarity with ILS systems and OCLC. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
