Job Description
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with expertise in the preparation of IRS Forms 706 (Estate Tax Return), 709 (Gift Tax Return), and 1041 (Fiduciary Income Tax Return), as well as experience with trust funding and allocation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate and trust taxation, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadline-driven environments. Key Responsibilities: Form 706 (U.S. Estate Tax Return) for taxable and non-taxable estates, Form 709 (U.S. Gift Tax Return), including split-gift elections and GST allocation, Form 1041 (U.S. Fiduciary Income Tax Return) for simple and complex trusts and estates, trust allocations between marital, bypass, GST-exempt, and GST non-exempt subtrusts, and fund trusts based on formula clauses, and analysis of trust documents. Qualifications: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. 5+ years of direct experience preparing Forms 706, 709, and 1041, Strong knowledge of federal and state estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax law, Experience with complex trust allocations and post-death trust funding, Familiarity with GST tax concepts and elections, Proficiency with tax software (e.g., Lacerte, CCH Axcess, or similar platforms). Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with law firms, trust companies, or private client service groups.
