Our client, a boutique litigation, real estate, corporate, and employment law firm in downtown Toronto, is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join its growing team on a temporary basis with strong potential for permanent hire. This role is ideal for someone eager to take initiative and grow within a fast-paced litigation practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage lawyers’ calendars and schedule meetings, calls, and court hearings
Assist with client intake and due diligence
Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
Review court procedures, rules, and practice directions
Prepare, format, and file electronic and physical court documents
Compile litigation materials including motion records, affidavit of documents, and briefs
Arrange service of court documents
Draft and mail legal correspondence and forms
Provide general administrative support in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk (preferred)
Strong attention to detail, excellent judgment, and the ability to work independently
Dependable, proactive, and solution-focused
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and openness to constructive feedback
English fluency required
Must be able to work onsite; remote work is not permitted
