Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Logistics Supervisor to manage and coordinate our logistics operations. The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the movement, storage, and distribution of goods and materials, ensuring that they are handled efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with team members and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all logistics activities, including shipping, receiving inventory management, and transportation.
Plan and organize logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials to customers and internal departments.
Monitor inventory levels and track the movement of goods to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
Oversee the scheduling and assignment of tasks to logistics team members, ensuring that workload is balanced and deadlines are met.
Implement and enforce safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all logistics staff.
Evaluate the performance of logistics operations and identify areas for improvement, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and other external partners to coordinate logistics activities and resolve any issues or concerns.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and other relevant data, using computerized systems and software as needed.
Train and develop logistics team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals and perform their duties effectively.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in logistics management, incorporating new ideas and technologies to improve operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in logistics management, with a minimum of [X] years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of logistics processes, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and transportation.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective leadership abilities, with experience leading and motivating a team of logistics professionals.
Proficiency in computerized logistics systems and software, including inventory management and tracking software.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in logistics operations.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data management.
