Teaching Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and must hold a current Police Check or be in the process of obtaining one, in order to work at Melbourne Girls Grammar. Professional Support Staff Applicants must hold or prior to commencing employment, be willing to obtain a current and valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check (Employee Type).

About the Roles

Fixed-term (Leave Replacement): Full year, Terms 1–4 (2026)
Fixed-term (Leave Replacement): Three terms, Terms 1–3 (2026)
Commencement: Term 1, 2026
Year Levels: Prep to Year 4
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated learning experiences in line with MGGS curriculum frameworks.
Foster students’ foundational skills in literacy and numeracy, alongside their social and emotional development.
Create safe, inclusive, and collaborative learning environments that support diverse learners.
Contribute to curriculum planning and team-based approaches within our Junior Years.
Integrate digital technologies to enhance student learning.
Uphold MGGS’s Child Safety policies and practices at all times.
About You:

Hold current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or can gain VIT registration. Graduates are encouraged to apply.
Deep understanding of curriculum requirements and best practice teaching strategies
Skilled at building meaningful, respectful relationships with students and colleagues
Enthusiastic about introducing innovative, student-centred teaching methods that inspire and engage
Collaborative and creative mindset, committed to enhancing learning programs and student outcomes

As MGGS staff, volunteers, contractors, and any other members of our school community involved in child-connected work, we are responsible for supporting and promoting the safety of children.

Our policies and procedures will provide the name and contact details of staff who have specific responsibilities in relation to child safety and who may receive reports of suspicion of child abuse. Child abuse includes ****** offences, grooming, physical violence, serious emotional or psychological harm, serious neglect and a child’s exposure to family violence.
We have legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s safety, which we follow rigorously.
