Responsibilities
The functional responsibility of the press helper is to support the pressman he is assigned to in running quality work on an offset printing press
Read and understand the CERM job ticket to determine press set-up materials needed for the job
Use a micrometer to check the thickness of paper being used for jobs
Set up press feeder and delivery to job specifications
Make the proper adjustments on the feeder and delivery during press runs to keep the press running
Set up the feeder including: moving wheels in the proper place, setting side guides, setting head stops, setting proper air requirements, and setting pressures for printing
Hang printing plates and printing blankets on the press
Put printing ink into each printing fountain
Maintain the proper water/fountain solution levels for the press
Assist pressman in removal of bad rollers and setting new rollers in place
Assist pressman in the preventive maintenance of the press
This includes the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance required in Client’s maintenance work instructions
Wash-up and clean the press after press runs
Help monitor the quality of the product being produced on his or her press
Use the computer for CERM data collection functions
Perform other job duties as assigned

You may be required to lift 30-50 pounds at a time. Your schedule is Monday through Thursday with mandatory overtime when needed. The mandatory overtime schedule will be posted every Wednesday. You will receive one 30 minute lunch & two 10 minute breaks.

All T-shirts must be tucked into your pants. No profane or suggestive texts and images are allowed. Shoes must be enclosed, with a rubber sole. Steel toed shoes are not required. No necklaces, bracelets or watches are allowed. Long hair must be tied up off of your neck at least 2 inches. Pants without any holes or rips can be worn. Shorts that are no shorter than 2 inches above the knee are permitted in areas that are not considered a hot process. Wear full length pants on your first day and confirm with your supervisor if shorts are permitted in your area.
