Responsibilities: The chosen candidate will play the following roles and take on the below responsibilities:As a mainframe modernization consultant, engage with clients to: - Conduct a TCO/ROI study to come up with the value proposition for application migration/modernization/transformation in the mainframe domain.- Define the approach and plan for mainframe modernization.- Define strategies for cloud adoption of key business applications (focusing on the mapping of business requirements to IT capabilities and align the same).- Work directly with customers to accelerate their products and initiatives and recommend best-practice application architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes.- Drive technical solutions discussions with your customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex technical challenges and use your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures, prescriptive guidance, proposals, and implementation plans.- Act as a thought leader in the wider community, playing a key role in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops.- Lead the mainframe transaction projects and architectural discussions with client stakeholders.- Drive design and development of Mainframe Modernization solutions using Cloud Ecosystems. - Thought leadership in building the new assets in the mainframe modernization domain.- Stay educated on new and emerging technologies and market offerings.Offering and capability development: - Create application consulting, assessment and modernization offerings based on market demand and develop delivery capabilities for its execution.- Define reference architecture for new offerings and provide key differentiator inputs to offering teams in terms of new technology adoption in the application area.Experience: - Prior experience in business case development, application portfolio assessment, Infrastructure sizing, costing, migration planning and migration to public cloud. - 15+ Years' experience in Architecture, Design and Development experience in Legacy. - Mainframe technologies (Common like COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS and Niche like PL1, IMS, Natural-Adabas, etc) , Mainframe Tools - Changeman, File Manager, Job Scheduler Endevour, etc. - Prior knowledge and experience in developing solutions using mainframe modernization tools such as MicroFocus, Astadia and CSP provided tools such as BluAge, G4 etc.- Strong experience in building Modernization Solutions for Legacy Mainframe Applications and movement to Cloud/Target technologies like Java, .Net, Python.- Strong experience in building and delivering various Modernization disposition solutions like Rehost, Re-engineer, Rewrite, Re-architect, Retire, etc.- Good experience with On-Prem/Cloud solutions and understanding of the CSP and Partner ecosystem.- Strong understanding of Software Architecture & enterprise framework. - Well versed with SOA, Microservices, API, Event driven framework, etc. - Strong communication and Customer Presentation skills. - Ability to engage with the customer, understand problem statements and have intelligent conversations to gather more information and build a solution.- Able to conceptualize and design applications grounds up based on the current requirements.- Create solution architecture documentation, work/feature-breakdown structure document and other related artifacts with deep technical and process details.- Well versed with estimation methodology and able to create detailed estimation, resource planning and delivery execution plans. - Experience in performing Modernization assessments and Proactive Opportunity mining.Certification (added advantage):- Professional Architect Certification in any of the cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). - Cloud based DevOps Certification. - Cloud based Developer Certification.
