MAINTENANCE WORKER

This position is for our Tri-Town Home, located in Haileybury, Ontario.
Available opportunities include: Full-Time; Day
What you’ll be doing
Performs preventive maintenance and maintenance tasks including PM checks, mechanical operations, building inspections, minor on demand repairs, heavy duty cleaning, moving of furniture, grounds maintenance/work, and janitorial tasks etc. in accordance with the written policies and procedures of Extendicare, the facility, trade/CSA legislation and the Maintenance Department as well as prescribed sanitation and infection control procedures.
Reports unsafe and hazardous working conditions and any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor
What you bring
Maintenance experience, preferably in an institutional setting.
Possess technical competencies related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC.
Valid driver's license required.
Experience with an older adult population an asset
Strong customer and resident service skills.
Experience in a high paced customer service setting an asset
Flexible and willingness to learn new tasks
Ability to multi-task and adapt to quickly changing priorities
Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English (other languages an asset)
