Job Description
As a Licensed Millwright in a food manufacturing setting, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring smooth production and adherence to food safety standards.
Maintenance Mechanic (Level 1) -Millwright
4 Locations- Mississauga, Brampton, North York, and Vaughan.
Our client is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic (Level 1) fit to join a food manufacturing company that provides its employees with challenging yet rewarding work. Should the applicant be accepted, the Maintenance Mechanic (Level 1) is responsible for providing overall support to the production group in packaging, processing, and facilities to make sure that operations are continuous and successful. They will be performing maintenance work on plant equipment with attention to safety, ensuring that equipment and machines follow GMP in good working condition. Corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment is a given. ($38.75).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot different machinery, equipment, and facilities that fall under processing and packaging.
Have proven skills in the principles of mechanics, such as fitting, welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving that will aid in diagnosing problems and providing quick and innovative solutions.
Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings in determining work procedures.
Provide recommendations for continual improvements and efficiencies.
Setup, disassemble, relocation, and assemble Bakery and Packaging equipment.
Fill out shift report electronically for specific issues or tasks, as well as assist production in setting up the equipment.
Maintaining and organizing shop, as well as the toolbox.
3. Requirements / Preferred Qualifications
The Maintenance Mechanic (Level 1) is required to have:
Experience with drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of preventative maintenance program
Knowledge of using any CMMS is preferred
Knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures is an asset
Knowledge of working with Robots (Schubert) is an asset
Preferred Qualifications
Millwright License or equivalent experience
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 5-7 years working experience with mechanical, electrical; including preventative maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)
Must have a valid driver’s license
Can complete all other duties as instructed and assigned by the Maintenance Manager
