Leadpoint Business Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician Helper at our Lakeville, MN location to play a crucial role in assisting with the upkeep and repair of the equipment and machinery used in recycling operations. This entry-level position is designed to provide you with valuable hands-on experience and training in maintenance tasks within a fast paced recycling environment.

1st Shift Available! Monday - Thursday 6:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. & Friday 6:00 a.m. - 2:30p.m.

Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance:
o Assist in the maintenance and repair of conveyor systems, balers, shredders, sorting machines, and other recycling equipment.
Conduct routine inspections to identify and report any issues or potential problems.
Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs under the guidance of experienced technicians.
2. Preventive Maintenance:
o Learn and assist in implementing a preventive maintenance program to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely.
Help with lubrication, belt replacements, and general cleaning of equipment as needed.
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment condition.
3. Safety:
o Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working
environment for yourself and colleagues.
Report any safety hazards or concerns immediately.
4. Training and Learning:
o Participate in training programs and workshops to develop your technical skills and knowledge.
Work closely with experienced maintenance personnel to learn and gain hands-on experience.
5. General Maintenance Support:
o Assist with general facility maintenance tasks as required, such as painting,
cleaning, and organizing maintenance areas.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
6. Compliance:
o Follow all environmental regulations and company policies related to recycling and waste management.
Report any environmental or compliance issues promptly.
Qualifications
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in maintenance work.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects when necessary.
• Safety-conscious mindset.
• Must successfully complete OSHA-mandated pre-employment testing.
• Must be able to read and speak the English language.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
• Exposure to cold/warm weather in warehouse environment.
• Exposure to post-industrial and post-consumer scrap plastic which may be dirty and/or
dusty.
