The Finance Department is actively seeking a Manager of Accounting Services - Governmental &: Internal Services.

This position reports to the Manager of Accounting Service - Fund Accounting and is responsible for the accuracy of the General Ledger and coordinating Governmental & Internal Service Funds and collaborates with the Accounting staff regarding City-wide activities.
Examples of Work
Develops process and procedural improvement strategies to ensure governmental and internal services expenses are recorded and tracked financially on the City's Financial Statements.
Prepares a variety of financial, analytical, and statistical reports and schedules.
Creates, reviews and/or posts journal entries City-wide.
Records adjusting entries to the financial system.
Researches, analyzes and reconciles complex accounting transactions.
Prepares and/or reviews monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Reviews and/or reconciles year-end financial statements components; assists with Comprehensive Annual Financial Report production.
Works with External Auditors and internal Council Auditor staff concerning reconciliations of financial transactions and other records kept by Departments.
Prepares and/or reviews supporting source documentation to validate posting to the general ledger and to resolve issues.
Assists with implementation of governmental Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Adheres to deadlines and ensures accuracy for support activities such as performance management systems, bi-weekly payroll, monthly closings, etc.
Provides customer service to departments by responding to their request and exchanging information with them.
Analyzes, examines or evaluates City-wide journal entries submitted to 1Cloud for approval.
Reviews funds for any irregularities, and contacts source for corrections to be made.
Prepares schedules for audit and annual report, reviews subordinates prepared by client schedules (PBCs).
Prepares monthly and quarterly payments to the State.
Provides training and technical assistance when needed.
Assists with troubleshooting, developing process, validation of data and support module leads of the ERP system.
Schedules, assigns, reviews and evaluates the work of assigned staff.
Communicates clear direction, manages for results and leads organizational change.
Assigns responsibility, takes corrective action, and demonstrates leadership in evaluating, developing and motivating employees.
Other duties as assigned.
Open Requirements/Supplemental Information
An eight (8) year combination of education, training and professional experience in accounting, finance or related field.
Preferred
Three (3) years of experience in professional governmental accounting or governmental auditing is preferred.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or related field is preferred.
Oracle financial experience is preferred.
CPA, CGFO, CGFM, certification is preferred.
