An opportunity now exists for an experienced Manager People & Culture to join their team on a 5-year, fixed term contract basis.
The Role
Reporting to the Director Corporate, you’ll manage and oversee four core functions – Human Resources, Organisational Development, Learning & Development and Work Health and Safety. Duties will include:
Leading, developing and mentoring a team of 25 P&C professionals to ensure that the function is contemporary, agile, customer focused, and results driven
Collaborating with leaders across the organisation to define and communicate the people & culture strategy
Maintaining a comprehensive enterprise bargaining framework including planning, consultation, negotiation and implementation process in conjunction with the HR team
Providing high level advice and assistance on complex employee and industrial relations issues across the organisation
Overseeing the development of a high-performance workplace culture through continuously reviewing the workforce plan which encompasses all people strategies, policies and procedures to ensure talent and skills remain relevant for the current and future needs of the Council
Leading the organisational development team to create and embed new workplace values across the organisation
Overseeing the staff engagement survey results and subsequent pulse surveys via Gallup
Overseeing the recognition program to ensure that high performance and values driven behaviours are supported and encouraged
Ensuring that skills needs are identified and that training programs are created and executed
Managing the design and rollout of a new performance management review process across the organisation
Building capacity and capability throughout the organisation through adequate planning, leadership training and development
Supporting the recruitment and retention of both paid employees and volunteers and the associated strategy
Overseeing WHS and associated projects to ensure a high degree of compliance to new legislation
Providing executive support to the CEO Performance Management Committee including the Independent Advisor to review CEO performance
