Manager, Testing Architect Specialist

Role Overview:
As a testing architect specialist, you will play a critical role in the software development lifecycle, focusing primarily on the testing phase to ensure that software products meet quality standards before release. This role is pivotal in establishing the foundation for effective testing practices within the Enterprise IT organization, leading to higher quality products and processes. You will play a crucial part in delivering reliable and robust software products to users.
What will you do in this role:
• The testing architect is responsible for designing a comprehensive test strategy that outlines the testing approach, methodologies, and tools to be used throughout the software development lifecycle. This includes both manual and automated testing strategies.
• Design and implement the testing framework, which includes defining the architecture of test automation solutions, selecting appropriate tools, and ensuring that the framework is scalable, maintainable, and efficient.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including COE Testing Lead, Squad Leads, Test Coordinators, Engineers, product managers, developers, and project managers, to align testing efforts with business goals and project requirements. This involves understanding the software's functional and non-functional requirements.
• Provide support within the testing squad, mentoring other testers, and promoting best practices in testing methodologies. Conduct training sessions and workshops to improve the skill set of the testing team.
• Develop detailed test plans that define the scope, approach, resources, and schedule of testing activities.
• Identify potential risks in the software development process and develop mitigation strategies. This includes prioritizing testing efforts based on risk assessment.
• Advocate for continuous improvement in testing processes; support adopting new tools and technologies that enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Track and report on testing progress, results, and quality metrics to provide insights into the software’s quality and readiness for release.
• Integrate testing processes into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate testing and ensure fast feedback on code changes.
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders regarding testing status, issues, and progress to ensure that everyone is aligned on quality objectives.
• Support the Testing tools lead to evaluate and select testing tools that align with the project requirements and the overall architecture of the software.
What Should you have:
• Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any Technology stream.
• 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical testing, quality assurance, or related fields.
• SAP Knowledge desired: understanding of SAP functionalities, modules, and integrations, as well as specific products like Concur, Ariba, Fieldglass, and MDG. Prior experience with S/4 HANA would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with SDLC in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Proven experience in project management and involvement in SAP implementation or upgrade projects, particularly in testing roles.
• A solid understanding of software testing methodologies (such as Manual Testing, Automated Testing, Performance Testing, and Load Testing), processes, and best practices, including functional, non-functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
• Knowledge of programming languages like ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming) can be beneficial for understanding the backend processes.
• In-depth knowledge of testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, Jira XRAY, Tricentis TOSCA, HP ALM, Load Runner).
• Experience in designing and implementing test frameworks that are scalable and maintainable, as well as understanding design patterns related to automated testing.
• Good functional testing skills to ensure the application meets business requirements.
• Passion for learning about new tools, technologies, and processes related to software testing and a commitment to driving continuous improvement within the testing function.
• Effective communication, leadership abilities, and interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Certifications in quality assurance, application management, project management and testing are preferred, such as: ITSQB (such as Certified Tester or Advanced Test Manager), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Agile Tester Certification (CAT), Certified Software Tester (CSTE) or Quality Assurance and Testing (QAT), PMP, or other relevant certifications.
