Job Description
Perform advanced Mould Flow Analysis focusing on optical plastics (PMMA, PC, PC+ABS), predicting potential moulding defects such as birefringence, stress concentrations, shrinkage, warpage, and surface quality issues critical for optical clarity.
Conduct detailed Thermal Simulations to evaluate cooling efficiency, cycle time optimization, and thermal stresses within tooling and moulded parts, especially for transparent and optical-grade plastics.
Collaborate closely with design and tooling teams to recommend design modifications that improve moldability, optical quality, and manufacturability of lighting components.
Support tool trials by monitoring and analysing moulding conditions, optical quality, and dimensional accuracy; validate simulation predictions with physical trial results.
Analyse tool trial data and troubleshoot process issues related to plastic flow, cooling, and part quality, with a focus on optical performance.
Maintain accurate documentation of simulation models, trial data, and process improvements.
Work cross-functionally with R&D, production, quality, and suppliers to integrate simulation-driven improvements into the product development and manufacturing process.
Stay current with the latest developments in simulation tools, optical plastic behavior, and automotive lighting manufacturing technologies.
