What you’ll be doing...
• Working closely with external teams to define release content and ensure growth of the platform to meet competitive demands.
• Leading and mentoring engineering web and application programming interface teams through software platform releases, ensuring products are on spec, architecturally sound, and delivered on time.
• Supporting customers with major platform issues and coordinating triage efforts to solve them.
• Documenting and maintaining architectural guidance to ensure performance and scalability of the platform.
• Leading the product strategy by shaping industry knowledge into a high-level strategic plan for the SDE Platform
• Creating product roadmaps taking industry & key stakeholder inputs and guide working plan inputs to the team from it
• Mentoring the team to live by design and operational principles targeted at delivering a World Class product
• Acting as a cross-functional partner to other Portfolios, by actively participating in features & capabilities, guiding conceptualization of solutions, wide architecture discussions, and software engineering best practices, among others.
• Adhering to industry standards and best practices and understanding emerging technologies and trends to continuously improve the systems, application, infrastructure, and processes.
• Leveraging Agile, DevOps, and Cloud principles and practices along with working closely with teams to transform the way they work.
• Influencing usage of latest technologies to enhance self service and reduce manual toil through chatbot, RPA and ML techniques.
• Leading, managing and architecting all automation activities within the cloud engineering team.
• Participating in design review of new infrastructure, and new product/tool development.
• Participating in devops tool analysis, creates proof of concept models, and makes recommendations to support the tools selection process.
• Ensuring tool compliance to verizon security protocols and implementing security and governance related automations.
• Ensuring Proactive server performance improvements, devise upgrade plans, and execute those plans in a timely manner.
• Connecting with external cloud engineering & devops user communities through meetups and forums to understand the best practices and share common solutions that have paved the way for user experience.
• Analyzing test results on application functionality, database impacts, errors or bugs, usability, users stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility.

What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
• Six or more years of relevant work experience leading teams developing & operating Products using cutting edge Cloud technologies
• Strong Experience in leading full stack programming & development using Java, Python and JavaScript including web design and architecture.
• Solid experience & exposure to APIs of Devops & Delivery Products including Clarity, Jira, Rally, GitLab, Sonar, Jenkins, Artifactory, QTest, Confluence, etc
• Strong experience in Product conceptualization to Execution, Customer Insight & User Experience, Product Strategy , and running Design Sprints for experimentation.
• An ability to make swift decisions in a dynamic context and requiring a sense of world class quality, safety, and reliability will be key for this role.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
• Experience working and leading team working on full stack with UI, server-side microservices & operating the product is required.
• Solid experience in deploying & operating software solutions using DevOps & SRE Practices
• Demonstrated Ability in exercising technical judgment for solving software engineering challenges.
• Highly familiar with Agile methodologies and best practices, with a focus on continuous improvement and high predictability.
• Familiar with any Cloud Computing Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
