Job Opportunity: Manufacturing Planner in Gloucester
A dynamic manufacturing company is seeking a highly organized and skilled Manufacturing Planner to join their Logistics & Planning department based in Gloucester. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, this role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of production activities, managing resources, and meeting customer demands.
Key Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Planner job:
• Production Scheduling: Create and manage production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacities, while raising manufacturing orders in line with MRP planned demand.
• Resource Planning: Ensure the effective allocation of labor, materials, and machinery to meet production goals, minimizing downtime.
• Order Prioritization: Prioritize production orders to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.
• Inventory Management: Monitor raw material and finished goods levels, ensuring optimal inventory to meet production needs.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and operational challenges.
• Communication: Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth production flow and address any supply chain issues.
• Reporting: Track key production metrics and report on performance to management.
• Continuous Improvement: Actively seek out and implement opportunities for increased efficiency, cost reduction, and streamlined processes.
Key Skills and Competencies for the Manufacturing Planner job:
• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with the ability to foresee and address production challenges.
• A methodical and organized approach to managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
