Job Description
As a Marine Automation Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and electronic systems across various areas of our vessels, including machinery spaces, entertainment equipment, and hotel facilities.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct monthly maintenance routines for all equipment in your area and ensure accurate reporting of completed work via the AMOS system.
• Manage the electronic systems related to the operation, control, monitoring, safety, and surveillance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and thermal equipment in the main machinery spaces.
• Oversee the ship's communication systems and bridge navigation equipment.
• Maintain telephone exchanges, security alarm systems, CCTV systems, and fire protection systems.
• Collaborate with the Entertainment Technical team for maintenance and equipment familiarization, ensuring optimal functioning of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment in entertainment areas.
• Execute emergency duties as outlined in the ship's Assembly Plan.
• Uphold safety management responsibilities for areas and operations within your control.
Basic Qualifications:
• Possess an Electro-technical Officer Certificate of Competency.
• Have a minimum of 2 years' shipboard experience as a senior Electro-technical Officer on cruise vessels.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English.
• Display enthusiasm for guiding fellow team members.
• Exhibit flexibility and composure in dynamic and evolving environments.
Additional Information:
This is a SHIPBOARD role.
Applicants must:
• Be genuinely interested in a maritime career and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel.
• Commit to the position for at least 2-3 contracts before seeking a transfer or promotion.
• Be prepared to perform emergency duties and adhere to the safety management responsibilities as defined in the ship Assembly Plan.
• Follow and embrace United States Public Health and environmental guidelines.
• Appreciate working and living in a multicultural environment.
• Be comfortable in confined living spaces with strict regulations.
• Adhere to a structured lifestyle both personally and professionally.
Your Responsibilities:
• Hold a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will assist with obtaining necessary documents).
• Complete a pre-employment medical examination.
• Obtain a criminal background check.
• Bring approved work shoes.
