MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

Pets Canada provides guidance and resources to pet businesses and helps to advance the well-being of Canada’s pets. The Marketing & Social Media Specialist focuses on growing the organization’s brand presence and driving engagement across both traditional and digital channels. This role combines strategic marketing execution with hands-on digital content creation, ensuring alignment with Pets Canada’s goals and consistent, high-quality communication across all platforms.

In this role, the Marketing & Social Media Specialist will be responsible in ensuring consistent branding and developing marketing efforts to promote the activities of Pets Canada and grow the association’s brand visibility across the country.  You will also be tasked with producing content, responding to feedback, and tracking effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

This position requires a self-motivated, organized person, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French. This role requires at least three years of experience in marketing and digital operations. The Marketing & Social Media Specialist will report directly to the Communications Director. Support may be provided to other senior positions, as required.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand Growth

Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness of the association and support core organizational objectives.
Support member and stakeholder outreach through traditional marketing channels, including:
Biweekly eNewsbrief
Print materials
Promotional copy
Annual report
Awards
Exhibitor marketing assets
Ensure all communications reflect the organization’s voice, mission, and strategic direction.
Digital Marketing & Campaigns

Co-develop, implement, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across web, social, and email platforms.
Monitor digital engagement trends, tools, and best practices to ensure ongoing improvement.
Social Media Oversight

Day-to-day management of social media channels, ensuring consistent posting, alignment with brand standards, and proactive audience engagement.
Respond to comments, messages, and member posts to strengthen relationships and grow online communities.
Content Creation

Produce high quality, engaging content across formats, including:
Content writing tailored to multiple audiences (focus on socials and emails).
Some graphic design for digital and print materials
Short-form video content (reels, clips)
Collaborate with internal teams and outside marketing agency to develop materials that support programs, events, advocacy, and outreach.
Analytics & Reporting

Analyze metrics from online platforms to measure engagement, reach, and performance.
Use data insights to refine marketing approaches and improve audience engagement across member, non-member, stakeholder, and public groups.
Education, Licenses and/or Certification, Experience Required

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
3+ years of experience in marketing, digital communications, or social media management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
Strong writing and storytelling skills, and digital content production skills.
Proficiency with social media platforms and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Meta Insights, Google Analytics, email marketing dashboards).
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively in a not-for-profit environment.
Ability to invite and build upon the ideas and input of others
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Possess excellent time management skills and attention to detail

Le ou la spécialiste du marketing et des médias sociaux est responsable de renforcer la présence de marque de l’organisation et de stimuler l’engagement sur les canaux traditionnels et numériques. Ce rôle combine l’exécution stratégique d’initiatives de marketing et la production concrète de contenu numérique, en assurant une communication cohérente, de haute qualité et alignée sur les objectifs d'Animaux de compagnie Canada, et ce, sur toutes les plateformes.

Dans ce poste, la personne titulaire sera chargée d’assurer la cohérence de l’image de marque, de développer les efforts marketing visant à promouvoir les activités d'Animaux de compagnie Canada et d’accroître la visibilité de l’association partout au pays. La personne titulaire aura aussi la responsabilité de produire du contenu, de répondre aux commentaires et de suivre l’efficacité des campagnes marketing.

Ce poste requiert une personne fortement autonome, proactive et capable de se motiver elle‑même, possédant également d’excellentes compétences en communication écrite et orale en anglais et en français. Ce rôle nécessite au moins trois ans d’expérience en marketing et en opérations numériques. Le ou la spécialiste relèvera directement de la directrice des communications. Un soutien peut être apporté à d’autres postes de niveau supérieur, au besoin.

Responsabilités principales

Marketing et croissance de la marque

Élaborer et exécuter des stratégies marketing intégrées pour accroître la notoriété de l’association et appuyer ses objectifs organisationnels clés.
Soutenir les communications auprès des membres et des parties prenantes par l’entremise de canaux marketing traditionnels, notamment :
Infolettre bimensuelle
Documents imprimés,
Textes promotionnels,
Rapport annuel,
Outils marketing liés aux prix et aux exposants.
Garantir que toutes les communications reflètent la voix, la mission et l’orientation stratégique de l’organisation.
Marketing numérique et campagnes

Co-concevoir, mettre en œuvre et optimiser des campagnes numériques sur les plateformes web, sociales et par courriel.
Surveiller les tendances, outils et pratiques exemplaires en engagement numérique afin d’assurer une amélioration continue.
Gestion des médias sociaux

Assurer la gestion quotidienne des plateformes sociales et maintenir une fréquence de publication constante, conforme aux normes de la marque, tout en favorisant un engagement proactif.
Répondre aux commentaires, messages et publications des membres afin de renforcer les relations et de développer les communautés en ligne.
Création de contenu

Produire du contenu attrayant et de haute qualité dans une variété de formats, notamment :
de la rédaction adaptée à divers publics (particulièrement pour les réseaux sociaux et les courriels),
de la conception graphique pour le numérique et l’imprimé,
du contenu vidéo court (reels, clips).
Collaborer avec les équipes internes et l’agence de marketing externe à la création de matériel appuyant les programmes, événements, activités de représentation et initiatives de sensibilisation.
Analyse et rapports

Analyser les indicateurs provenant des plateformes numériques pour mesurer l’engagement, la portée et la performance.
Utiliser les données pour ajuster les approches marketing et améliorer l’engagement auprès des membres, des non-membres, des partenaires et du grand public.
Formation, permis et/ou certifications, expérience requise

Diplôme post-secondaire en marketing, communications, médias numériques ou dans un domaine connexe.
Minimum de trois ans d’expérience en marketing, communications numériques ou gestion des médias sociaux.
Connaissances, compétences et aptitudes requises

Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et verbale, en anglais et en français.
Solides compétences en rédaction, en narration et en production de contenu numérique.
Maîtrise des plateformes sociaux et des outils de conception graphique (p. ex. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
Expérience avec les outils d’analyse (p. ex. Meta Insights, Google Analytics, tableaux de bord d’infolettres).
Capacité à gérer plusieurs échéances et à travailler en collaboration dans un environnement d’organisme à but non lucratif.
Capacité à solliciter les idées des autres et à les faire progresser.
