Your Role
The Marketing Data Specialist role in the Marketing Technology team at Palo Alto Networks plays a vital role in ensuring data from marketing activities is accurately tracked, formatted, and uploaded into our systems quickly and accurately. Your primary responsibility will be to support our List Upload process and will play a critical role in ensuring that prospects, customers, and partners that engage with Palo Alto Networks marketing activities are uploaded into our systems and processed quickly and accurately, to enable future personalized marketing and sales activities/ engagement. You’ll work closely with Marketing Managers globally and the Global Digital and Demand teams at Palo Alto Networks.
• Marketo Program Update Project (Estimated workload: FT for 2 months)1K Marketo program update to support form depreciation - will need to work along with the web team to update Marketo programs with new trigger functionality in Marketo. Once updated in Marketo, coordinate with the webteam to perform QA tests, and remove/ deactivate old triggers in Marketo
• Data Hygiene/Performance Projects - (i)Marketo clean-up related to the project above to archive programs that will no longer be used. (ii) Deactivating old landing pages and triggers to clean up Marketo
This role is a 6 month project contract assignment at Palo Alto Networks. Contractors will not be employed by Palo Alto Networks but through our trusted staffing partners. Please keep reading for more details of the role.
Responsibilities
• Analyze, format, and update Excel spreadsheets to ensure accurate data entry into marketing systems within established SLAs
• Verify accurate and complete information provided from the marketing team and follow up on incomplete submissions
• Communicate and track tickets and requests in Jira and Workfront
• Upload cleaned/formatted data to Marketo
• QA data entry in both Marketo and Salesforce post upload to ensure data accuracy
• Work closely with marketing managers and operations teams to streamline processes
• Support the MarTech team with on-off projects within Marketo to increase efficiency and performance of the system (landing page and smart campaign deactivation, etc)
Experience and Skills
• 2+ years of excel/data entry experience
• 2+ years on a B2B Marketing team
• Expert using Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets to analyze and format data
• History of using Excel formulas and macros to create streamlined data formatting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience with SalesForce and Marketo preferred (Eloqua, Hubspot also acceptable)
• Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills
• Ability to be resourceful in handling ambiguous situations or requests
• Experience with traditional and Agile project management methods such as SCRUM.
• Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
