Role overview
The product marketer defines the product’s value proposition, target audience, and messaging, then translates that into campaigns, collateral, and sales enablement.
They act as the “voice of the product” to both customers (through marketing) and internal teams (sales, product, support).
Define product positioning, messaging, and go‑to‑market (GTM) strategy for new and existing products.
Conduct competitive and market research, build buyer personas, and identify customer pain points.
Create or oversee marketing content (one‑pagers, datasheets, web content, case studies, demos, sales decks).
Lead product launches end‑to‑end, coordinating with product, engineering, sales, and marketing.
Train sales and customer‑facing teams on product capabilities, differentiators, and objection handling.
Track launch and product‑marketing KPIs (adoption, revenue, engagement) and optimize campaigns.
Own product positioning, messaging, and GTM strategy for assigned products or solutions.
Develop compelling marketing assets (sales collateral, case studies, web content, presentations) aligned to buyer personas.
Partner with product and engineering teams to translate roadmap and features into clear customer‑focused narratives.
Lead cross‑functional product launches, including planning timelines, campaigns, and sales enablement.
Analyze market and competitive trends to inform product and messaging decisions.
Measure and report on product‑marketing performance and recommend optimizations.
3–5+ years in product marketing, marketing, or product management (adjustable by level).
Strong analytical skills plus experience with marketing tools and basic CRM/BI dashboards.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience presenting to sales and stakeholders.
