The Opportunity: Marketing Specialist – Sales & Events
WinSport is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Marketing Specialist – Sales & Events to support our Marketing team in promoting our world-class event spaces, in-house catering services, and the 3,000-seat WinSport Event Centre. This role plays a key part in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive awareness, bookings, and attendance for internal and external events — from weddings and corporate meetings to major concerts and community celebrations.
This role is perfect for a big-picture thinker who also thrives in the details —someone who can turn strategy into action and has the insight to adapt when the landscape changes.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement marketing plans that drive awareness, engagement, and bookings for WinSport’s Event Facilities and Food and Beverage services
Craft compelling narratives that highlight the uniqueness of our spaces and culinary offerings, uncovering and sharing stories that resonate with our diverse audiences
Oversee our third-party digital marketing partner to ensure campaigns are effectively planned, executed, and optimized to meet strategic objectives
Plan and execute small to medium-scale sales and marketing events aimed at showcasing our facilities and services to prospective and current clients.
Monitor performance metrics, interpret data, and provide actionable insights to refine strategies and improve ROI
As a member of the internal marketing team, work cross-functionally with Sales, Event Services, and Food & Beverage teams to determine needs, develop marketing plans, and ensure cohesive messaging and alignment on goals
Manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail, delivering high-quality work on time and within scope
Manage listings on event platforms and venue directories to maximize visibility and reach.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance our visual communication strategies.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
3–5 years of marketing experience, ideally in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, preferably with experience in event, venue, or hospitality marketing.
Broad understanding of the marketing mix – you’re not a specialist in one area, but have a strong working knowledge of many
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – you know how to connect with different audiences (internally and externally) and bring ideas to life
Creative mindset with a strong instinct for storytelling and brand alignment
Analytical thinker with experience measuring success and making data-informed recommendations
Comfortable working with a variety of marketing tools/platforms including CMS, email marketing platforms, social media, and analytics tools
Passion for events, hospitality, and live entertainment is a plus!
