We invite you to join our team in making this mission a reality for our students as a full-time faculty member teaching Upper School Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Applicants should be flexible in their ability to teach five sections of Upper School Math, ranging from Algebra 1 through Calculus, and including grades 9–12. Upper School Math teachers at Seattle Academy emphasize conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving while fostering confidence, persistence, and curiosity in young learners. Instruction is student-centered and developmentally responsive, balancing academic rigor with strong relational support.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a diverse population of learners and skilled in supporting students across a range of mathematical readiness levels. Full-time faculty at Seattle Academy typically teach five classes and carry additional supervisory or advisory responsibilities as assigned.
Teaching Responsibilities
• Teach five sections of Upper School math courses ranging from Algebra 1 through Calculus.
• Design and deliver lessons aligned with Upper School math standards and departmental learning goals.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learners and promote deep conceptual understanding.
• Seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
• Incorporate formative and summative assessment practices to provide timely, meaningful feedback.
• Foster a classroom environment that supports risk-taking, collaboration, and growth.
• Collaborate with Upper School colleagues on curriculum development, assessment practices, and student support.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with students, families, and colleagues.
• Participate fully in the life of the Upper School, including advisory, faculty meetings, and community events.
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of Upper School teaching experience preferred.
• Experience teaching a range of upper school math courses.
• Undergraduate degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• Strong content knowledge and commitment to effective math pedagogy.
• Evidence of engagement in professional learning (e.g., workshops, conferences, professional learning communities, or coursework) that informs instructional practice.
