Job Description
Fontaine Site Services is a rapidly growing civil construction contractor working across Greater Vancouver and the Sea-to-Sky corridor. We specialize in earthworks, excavation, underground utilities, and civil infrastructure.
We are looking for someone to assist our current heavy-duty mechanic and assist with fleet operations.
This position involves deliveries, field work with light-to-medium mechanic work on construction equipment and company vehicles, and supporting active construction sites throughout the Lower Mainland.
Most of our fleet consists of Caterpillar equipment, so CAT experience is a major asset.
The fleet you would be assisting with consists of:
Excavators;
Wheel loaders;
Compactors;
Generators;
Support trucks; and
Company vehicles.
What the Job Involves:
Delivery/Fleet Support:
Use a company truck to transport equipment, materials, buckets, and compactors between job sites;
Be ready on the road to respond to site needs quickly; and
Pick up and drop off parts or equipment as needed.
Mechanic Support:
Assist our heavy-duty mechanic with light-to-medium maintenance and repairs;
Perform routine inspections, service, and troubleshooting on construction equipment and vehicles;
Support on-site repairs at active job sites; and
Maintain service records and reports.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Valid driver’s license;
Comfortable working on active construction sites;
Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills;
Experience with Caterpillar equipment is strongly preferred
Experience with hydraulic or electrical systems is an asset; and
Civil construction experience is a major asset.
