An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Mental Health Clinician with tertiary qualifications in appropriate disciplines (Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing or Clinical Psychology) to join The Darwin Clinic team. The Darwin Clinic offers evidence-based therapy treatment programs for people with a range of psychiatric conditions and will include inpatient and outpatient groups.
As a Mental Health Clinician your experience will include:
Working in a Multidisciplinary Team – and teamwork experience
using ACT, CBT, DBT –formal training in these therapies and Intervention
facilitating group therapy .
Care Planning for Adult Mental Health clients
risk assessment and safety planning
Clinically collaborates with multidisciplinary team through developing inpatient and outpatient programs, triaging inpatient and outpatient admissions and participating in case conference meetings with treating psychiatrists.
Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia.
In February 2021, a purpose built 18 bed inpatient Mental Health & AoD Unit, The Darwin Clinic opened, a new service for patients in the Northern Territory. It also incorporates a dedicated Day Rehabilitation Program. The Darwin Clinic will offer Territorians a range of vital mental health supports, including ******* and drug withdrawal programs, and treatment for a range of mental health conditions including personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorders.
Selection Criteria:
Knowledge and experience in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
Experience in the development and creative delivery of group therapy
Membership of the relevant professional association
Strong Risk Management skills
Well-developed assessment and report writing skills
Capacity to work well in a team and practice reflectively
