Job Summary
The Mental Health Specialist provides support to patients with mental health conditions in a hospital setting. The role involves working under the supervision of a registered nurse to deliver patient care and promote a therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
Perform patient observations and duties as directed by the RN and outlined in hospital policies and procedures.
Manage patient activities and provide education on various topics, including coping strategies and emotional regulation.
Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu, responding to patients' needs and intervening when necessary.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and address any concerns or issues that arise.
Requirements
A high school diploma is required for this position.
0-3 years of related experience in a psychiatric or medical setting is preferred.
Valid Florida Behavioral Health Technician Certification is desirable.
