Job Description

Program Overview

The Complex Care Housing (CCH) Program supports Indigenous women who are pre‑natal and post‑natal, with lived experience of homelessness, mental illness, substance use, complex trauma, and behavioural challenges. Participants often present with concurrent disorders, chronic health conditions, and life‑skill deficits.

Participants reside with their child in a 24/7 staffed townhouse and may remain in the program until their child reaches 18 months of age. The program operates within a low‑barrier, harm‑reduction framework, providing intensive clinical and psychosocial care alongside culturally-safe, trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented, and evidence‑informed approaches.

The goal of the CCH Program is to provide a safe and stable environment where mothers and infants remain together while participants strengthen mental health, substance use recovery, emotional regulation, parenting capacity, and life skills, preparing them for independent living and long‑term well‑being.

Position Summary

The Mental Health & Substance Use Clinician provides specialized clinical mental health support, individual counselling and group therapy services to participants of the CCH Program. The clinician’s primary responsibilities include individual mental health and addictions counselling, DBT-informed group facilitation, mental health assessments, relapse-prevention and recovery planning, clinical interventions, risk assessments, crisis intervention, and intake evaluations.
