Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community.

Position Overview
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults living with mental illness? At our Clubhouse program, we provide a vibrant, supportive environment where individuals can connect, grow, and thrive. As a Mental Health Worker, you'll play a crucial role in facilitating enriching activities and supporting clients on their journey to wellness through a psycho-social rehabilitation approach.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the selected candidate will interview and orient clients while assessing their abilities within the psycho-social rehabilitation framework. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating relevant activities, conducting ongoing assessments of client needs and interests, and maintaining accurate documentation of client progress and financial records. The candidate will ensure the safety and maintenance of equipment, transport clients as needed, and collaborate with other professionals and community services. Additionally, they will evaluate service effectiveness, foster positive relationships with staff and clients, stay updated on industry trends, and contribute to program development and evaluations.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a diploma in health or social sciences, such as mental health work, recreational therapy, or vocational therapy, along with a minimum of one year of experience in mental health services. A current Level I First Aid certificate is required, as well as a Class 4 or 5 driver’s license.

Candidates must possess effective facilitation skills and be willing to work shifts, including weekends and evenings. They should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients. Proficiency in written and oral communication is essential, along with the ability to develop program-related reference materials. A commitment to problem-solving, the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and the capacity to identify sensitive issues while maintaining confidentiality are also required.

This position is open to all applicants and requires union membership.
