Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Merchandiser to play a crucial role in our production process. This position will be responsible for the timely procurement of fabrics, seamless coordination with our valued vendors and job workers, and ensuring that our garments are manufactured according to schedule and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical abilities, advanced Excel skills, and a thorough understanding of apparel manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabric Sourcing and Ordering: Accurately calculate fabric requirements based on production needs and place timely purchase orders with approved vendors.
Vendor and Job Worker Coordination: Establish and maintain clear communication channels with fabric suppliers and job workers to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to production timelines.
Production Timeline Management: Diligently monitor production schedules, proactively identify potential delays, and implement solutions to ensure on-time completion of manufacturing.
Accessories Management: Ensure the timely sourcing, preparation, and delivery of all necessary accessories required for garment production.
Inventory Support: Assist with the accurate recording of finished goods received from job workers into our inventory system.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze data related to fabric consumption, production progress, and vendor performance, generating insightful reports as needed.
Apparel Manufacturing Expertise: Apply a strong understanding of the end-to-end apparel manufacturing process to effectively manage fabric procurement and production coordination.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Merchandiser or in a production coordination role within the apparel industry is highly preferred.
Exceptional numerical and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting functionalities.
Comprehensive understanding of apparel manufacturing processes, including fabric sourcing, cutting, stitching, and finishing.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to effectively interact with vendors and internal teams.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve effectively.
