IEH Services Canada, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a full time Microbiology Lab Assistant at its facility in Richmond, BC. The position will require night and weekend work. Employees will be eligible for benefits after 3 months of continuous full time employment. The current evening shift is 14:30-23:00.
Responsibilities and Duties
Receive customer samples, verify information, and enter data into LIMS.
Sample preparation and documentation.
Follow standard operating procedures.
Media and reagent preparation.
Clean glassware and equipment.
Waste disposal and general laboratory cleaning duties.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
Ideal candidates should possess the following skills:
Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Strong analytical, organizational and multitasking skills.
Demonstrated ability to plan and perform tasks according to laboratory priorities.
Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, manage time, and work independently.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to accomplish team goals.

Educational Requirements
BSc., Technical diploma and/or relevant lab experience preferred.
