About the Role
Teranet is currently looking for Mongo Data Base Administrator. You will report to the IT Development Manager. You will participate in solution design and modeling to ensure data products are developed according to best practices, standards, and architectural principles. You will work closely with the data architect, database administrators, and BI developers to redefine our approach to data pipelines and principles if reusability.
What You’ll Be Doing- Participate in the design, build and deployment of NoSQL implementations- Install, configure, upgrade, tune, and maintain MongoDB environments- Provide proactive input into design issues/constraints, performance tuning, and impact analysis of changes- Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.- Support, enforce and improve upon database development, deployment and maintenance best practices- Participate in project planning and execution of database operations- Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.- Identify opportunities for improvement of existing ETL processes to enhance data integrity and accuracy.- Participate in project teams and collaborate as a team to deliver business outcomes
About You
MongoDB- 5+ years’ experience with MongoDB technology, ideally in a customer-facing role OR 5+ years’ experience with distributed software administration coupled with reasonably high MongoDB knowledge-
- Strong desire to learn NoSQL architectures and administrative procedures-
- Distributed database (especially MongoDB) expertise in all areas of implementation: installation, configuration, upgrades, tuning- Strong skills in replication, sharding and backups techniques- Proficiency with relational DBs: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL or similar- Experience with Database Design preferred- Proficient user knowledge of Linux & Windows operating systems
Business Intelligence (BI)- Experience working in teams to perform ETL of data from a variety of data sources- Hands on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica and/or SSIS- Expert in writing and analyzing SQL scripts- Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills- Well-developed communication, collaboration, interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to build and maintain effective relationships- Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal direction- Demonstrated ability to accept feedback from others- Ability to effectively communicate with internal & external teams
