A few details about our nursery:
· We are a sessional nursery, with morning or afternoon sessions in term-time only.
· We support children aged between 2 to 5 years old.
· We are busiest in the morning, so are open to morning only or longer hours for our teachers.
Responsibilities and Duties
· To be a Montessori teacher in the setting, and a key worker to a number of children
· To observe and support children to help them reach their full potential
· Support curriculum planning and implementation
· Support parent engagement
· Keep and update records in partnership with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager
To uphold each of our nursery policies, importantly those that relate to our safeguarding commitments
· Participate in self-assessment, reflection and ongoing professional development as part of our commitment to training
· Core part of the nursery team, helping to think through and implement our strategy and the opportunities ahead of us.
Qualifications and Skills
· A qualified and experienced teacher with a passion for early years education and the Montessori pedagogy
· Level 3 / 4 Montessori Qualification
· Deep understanding of the EYFS statutory requirements
· At least 2 years of experience in a nursery setting
· Experience in tracking and monitoring of children’s progress
· An excellent communicator, with a strong commitment to working in partnership with parents and the community
