Operations
• Delivering and maintaining required documentation.
• Ensuring implementation of non-functional requirements on agreed technical
and architectural standards.
• Defining, documenting, communicating and enforcing required standards,
guidelines and best practices.
• Performing capacity planning.
• Performing trend analysis and forecasts.
• Compiling and delivering required reporting.
• Problem solving and in-depth root cause analysis.
• Analyzing system performance, make and implement recommendations on
systems improvements and system tuning.
• Designing and delivering on continuity requirements.
• Ensuring optimum utilization and configuration of installed infrastructure.
• Planning, scoping and delivery of projects.
• Roadmap/ Upgrade path.
• Upgrades and patching of software.
Service Excellence
• Proactively manage the environment to honor required service levels.
• Building and maintaining healthy collaborative partnerships with relevant
stakeholders.
• Work effectively in a team.
• Can also work independently.
• Regular and constant feedback on planned activities.
Candidate Profile
• Installing MSSQL software.
• Database creations.
• Installing, configuring and managing MSSQL
Clusters.
• Estimate MSSQL database capacities; develop
methods for monitoring database capacity and usage.
• Develop procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need downtime.
• Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Vacuum, Re-indexing, Archiving).
• Managing Database Storage Structures
• Administering User Security
• Managing Data Concurrency
• Implementing Database Auditing
• Investigations and implementation of encryption (Data in-transit and data at rest)
• Implementing Database Auditing
• Database Maintenance
• Performance Management
• Responsible for query tuning
• Backup and Recovery Concepts
• Performing Database Backups and recoveries
• Data migrations
• Adherence to the Patch management policy
• Experience with database migrations
to PostgreSQL will be an added advantage
• Good Communication skills
• Good Time management skills
